Green Bay and Milwaukee

Judd has always been a Packers fan

and couldn't resist being so close to

Green Bay without going there

to see Lambeau Field.

We took a tour of the stadium with the

cutest old man who ran everywhere

and talked to us like a coach.

As we walked through the tunnel and onto the field they pumped in crowd

noise like we were the team.

It was pretty fun.

In the Hall of Fame museum at the stadium

there is an area for the kids to play.

Redd loved the Cheese Slide.

He wasn't really into

playing dress-up.

This is Redd's version of the

Lambeau Leap!

After seeing Lambeau Field, we headed back

to Milwaukee and saw our final game...

Brewers vs. Braves.

We had such an amazing trip! Thanks Petersons for all the fun (and help with Redd!)

Cubs

I have to say that watching a Cubs game

at Wrigley Field is quite an experience.

First of all, there are fans everywhere.

People were sitting on bleachers on the

tops of apartment buildings in the outfield!

Second, the stadium was built in 1914,

and they still use the old school scoreboard

where the numbers are changed by hand.

And last, the fans are crazy and get

really into it... especially the song

"Go Cubs, Go" after a win.

Sadly I was singing it for days!

They were giving out these darling

Cubbie Bears to all the kids

at the game and Redd loved it! We may have a Cubs fan in the family.

Because we were packed so tightly into the

stadium, it was a good thing that Redd took

a short nap during the game!Notice the pole to the right...

crazy that there are just poles in the

way of the field. Luckily we didn't

get stuck behind it!

White Sox

Our third game was the

White Sox vs Rays game.

We were super excited when in

the 2nd inning we got to see

another grand slam home run!

But that wasn't even the coolest part.

As the game went on, we realized the pitcher,

Mark Buehrle, was pitching a

Perfect Game.

By the 7th inning the crowd was on their

feet and cheering at every out.

During the 9th inning, we all held our breath

when a ball went straight out to the

top of the centerfield wall.

Amazingly the centerfielder caught it,

bobbled it, and held on to it!

This was only the 18th perfect game

ever. What an awesome game!

After the game, people

on the streets were offering to buy

our ticket stubs. Too bad we didn't

have ours, or I would have made $20!Notice how the scoreboard shows all zeros!

After the game we went to the Sears Tower. (now known as the Willis Tower) When you get up to the top, you can step out on a glass balcony 103 floors above Chicago. Even though you know it is safe, it still made my heart pound to look down!

Chicago

Our first day in Chicago we decided to go

and wander around the city for a little while.

Our hotel was close to a train station

so we rode the el trains most of the

time we were in Chicago.

Redd had fun, as long as someone

new was holding him every 5 minutes.

Actually he was really good, but we learned

that if there was room, the stroller was

the best place for Redd on the train.

When we got downtown we went to Millennium Park. There is a really neat outdoor concert venue and different pieces of artwork inside the park. This statue is called Cloud Gate. I love how it reflects the city in the background But my favorite was the view from underneath. The picture doesn't really show how cool it was, but it was neat to look up and see all the different reflections. After the park we went down to Navy Pier. The pier goes out over Lake Michigan and there are lots of fun shops along the way. I like in this picture that you can see how the clouds rolled in and covered the city skyline. It was really beautiful. This is us at the end of the pier. By the time we got here, we were all a little tired of walking. And lucky for us, we got to walk all the way back! While we were waiting for the trolley, Redd wanted to play on the grass for a little while.

Detroit

When we woke up in Detroit

it was pouring rain,

but luckily that only lasted a

little while.

When we got in the car in the

morning, this is what Redd looked like...

that was a sign of his attitude

for the rest of the day! We went to the Ford Factory Tour

and Museum. There is a few short movies

during the tour and Redd didn't last

so we hung out by the

old cars for a while.

He was so excited about learning! We didn't take any pictures inside the factory. But it was really neat to see how they put the cars together. At the museum, Redd was with Grandma and Joni for a little while and I think this was his happiest time of that day... they let him out of his stroller! The Oscar Meyer weiner mobile was in the museum & they had a giant hot dog you could climb into. This is what we wanted Redd to do when he got in... This is what he was actually doing... That night we went to the Tigers vs Mariners game. Yes, Judd got to see one of his favorite teams twice on this trip. Unfortunatly they lost this time. The game was really fun. There was a grand slam homerun and 6 other home runs during the game. Of course Redd decided that he didn't want to cooperate during the game either, so we took turns taking him out to walk around the stadium. Luckily we were right in front some empty handicap seats and he could run around a little up there. I guess everyone has their bad days!

Sandusky

While Judd, Sean, Joni and I went to Sandusky,

Jon, Bonnie and Redd stayed back and

went to the John Johnson Farm.

Redd and Jon are standing on the porch where Joseph Smith was covered with

tar and feathers by an angry mob during the night.

The following morning Joseph preached a sermon

despite his injuries.

Redd spent most of the time outside playing

in the yard.

Grandma & Grandpa took turns taking the tour because Redd wanted to play instead of listen.

I think it worked out though

because Bonnie got the sweet & condensed

version & Jon was able to take his

sweet time.

While they were at the farm, the rest

of us went to a really cool amusement park. Cedar Point had a ton of really

cool roller coasters.

This is a picture of the scariest ride

I've ever been on. I felt like a little kid

who is afraid to go on the Colossus at Lagoon.

I almost chickened out after the

hour and 1/2 wait!

This picture doesn't even do it justice.

You go up 420 feet and are going 120 mph.

It was incredible! I LOVED IT! While we were enjoying all the fun roller coasters

Kirtland

Today we visited some of

the historic sites in Kirtland, OhioThis is the first Bishop's Storehouse

and one of the homes where

Joseph and Emma lived

in Kirtland.

Thank heavens we have lots of helpers

on this trip! Redd has been really good, but it helps to have

lots of us to take care of him.

We also visited the Kirtland temple We are having so much fun on this trip! I can't believe all the things we have done in so few days! One more thing I feel I need to document... We almost made it 3 days without Redd throwing up.. yikes!

Cleveland

Our Baseball Trip!

We are on a 10 day trip with

Judd's family. During the trip we will

stop at 5 different baseball stadiums

and a few other places in between!

Our first stop was Cleveland, Ohio.

We got to go to the

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

This picture doesn't really show it,

but the building is really neat. This is right before we went in.

Sadly they don't allow any photography

inside the museum. So you won't

get to see my favorite part....

wore in Thriller.. I loved it!

One of my other favorite exhibits was the Wall of Rolling Stone Covers. There was a cover with Charles Manson and next to it, was a letter he wrote the magazine.. creepy. We parked our car out on a pier that over looked Lake Erie. It was so beautiful. That night we went to the Indians vs. Mariners game. Judd was happy that Seattle won. Sean was not. On our way in, Redd got a certificate because it was his first Indians game. You can see his excitement!

InDepEnDenCe DaY

We had a great 4th of July.

We went out and enjoyed the Plain City celebration.

My nieces and nephew were in the parade

Cord was all Boy Scout suited up!

He is the cute blond, looking the other direction.

Chloe was racing down the street,

so she could get back for the rest of the parade.

Ava rode her bike too, but she got bored

and gave up before she made it to us. So sadly no picture. My brother Clint was one of the announcers and we enjoyed a few good laughs from his comments. Tayah, Chloe, and Redd enjoying the parade!

After the Plain City Celebration we went out to the Peterson's for a barbecue, water slide, and fireworks. Redd loves the water.. Redd loves the blow up slide... But Redd hated the two together! I didn't even get a picture because just cried when we put him on it. After the barbecue there was some fun entertainment with this little motorcycle. When Judd had a turn, you could hear him laughing all the way down the street! Joni after she pulled a off a sweet pop-a-wheelie Redd even got a turn, thanks to Grandpa Jon. We had such a wonderful day! I absolutely love spending time with family. Redd had so much fun he even feel asleep during the fireworks! It doesn't get any better than that!
